My daughter and I love blueberries, not so much my Hubby, but that’s his problem. I wanted to try painting cloth today. It was surprisingly easy to do with the wax. I find I am far better with organically shaped objects than objects with a hard edge. I will continue to push myself, though. The way wax can be both opaque and transparent is a God-send. Anyone used to oils would love this medium!
Figs are funny little fruits. Some people love them, some hate, and some have no idea what they are. I believe one friend of mine thought they were mini eggplants… I got a whole basket of these little guys at the store the other day. I cut them up, and coupled them with a slice of goat cheese and wrapped them in prosciutto. Yummy. I’ve had them with blue cheese before, also, but wasn’t a big fan of the blue I’d picked. Anyway… a good bottle of wine was the perfect thing to wash them down.
I also did 2 paintings, one big and one small so be sure to scroll all the way down to view both!
My daughter and husband really like pears. I like a pear in a glass of lemonade (likely with vodka) on a hot day, or cold… anytime, really. Pears are one of those fruits you see a lot in still life’s, but it’s also a fruit people seem enamored with. I find the array of colors to be what draws me to them. They go well with cheese, too. What’s a fruit and cheese place without pears? My favorite little bar has a fruit and cheese plate with dried pears. Love it! So anyway, here is my daylight pear!
So, I’m going to join the bandwagon here and start doing smaller, one-a-day paintings. Not that I’ll do one EVERY day, but I’ll at least finish it within a 24-hour period. For my first try at mundane, everyday objects, I chose my breakfast. Many do.
I have a love affair with eggies. I love eggs. I eat eggs every morning–two eggs and a slice of spelt toast. I like good eggs, too. Orange yolks, a hard thing to acquire from the grocery store brands, but, I’ve found a few that are good. One day I’ll have a coup. Just not now.
